Each year begins with a planned calendar of events followed by impromptu activities providing opportunities to get together. Throughout each year, the club delivers education seminars, driving clinics and social drives that are open to all drivers as well as encouraging beginners, youth and para to participate. Show events include a one day show in the late spring.
Shows are held at various locations ensuring accessibility and a variety of landscapes. At each event, variable offerings are made so that individuals may enter and perform at their own comfort level. Coach assisted, para and junior classes offer additional assistance to competitors so they may build confidence as they develop their driving skills. A wide variety of clothing and equipment is acceptable and need not be expensive, but must be safe. Judges are often willing to offer suggestions for improvement as applicable.
Red Light - Green Light classes focus on youth and are held at each show providing an opportunity to accompany a TCCA member in a carriage and experience the thrill of taking part. The Ken Armstrong Youth Fund has been established through TCCA to encourage and assist youth in entering the sport.
Para participation in all activities is encouraged. An adult partner is required to accompany and be responsible for the participant at all times. Contact with the TCCA Show Manager is to be made for necessary arrangements. The Urban Elevator Para Trophy is awarded to an appropriate participant at year end awards held at TCCA's AGM.
Membership is required to participate in TCCA activities. The form can be found on the website with the annual waiver, that when signed and submitted, covers the calendar year of membership.
Each year is closed by the Annual General Meeting with a potluck meal, year-end awards, interesting speakers and a review of past and upcoming events.
The Board of Tri-County Carriage Association appreciates your continued support.
